Gear Racks

Gear Racks

DIN867 racks for long-travel axes, paired with planetary gearboxes on CNC, laser, and gantry machines. One series: the nine module sizes below are sizes of this rack series — not nine products.

Module table — one series, nine module sizes

Standard DIN module steps inside the catalogue 1.5–10 range. Pitch is module × π, calculated — not a catalogue load table. Per-module load and price are not published in the catalogue; the last column says so. Module sizes are table rows on this series page, not separate product pages.

Pinion — the mating series

The gear-rack chapter also carries a pinion series (Technical Data of Pinion). A long-travel axis states rack + pinion together, never a rack alone — the pinion has its own series page.

Pairing a long-travel axis

A long-travel axis is three pieces, stated together in one inquiry: gear rack + pinion + planetary gearbox + motor. Your inquiry must state: module, length, straight vs. helical, mounting, load, travel.

Pairing rules

  1. Pick the module from the axis load and travel — then confirm the pinion and gearbox ratio on the selection page.
  2. State straight vs. helical and ground finish; the catalogue offers straight and helical, ground.
  3. State the total travel and whether the axis needs joined rack lengths; joint alignment is to be confirmed by the supplier in writing.
  4. State materials where the environment demands it: C45 / S45C and 16MnCr5 / SCM440 are the catalogue materials.
  5. State precision where it matters: DIN 6h25 / 10e27 are the catalogue precision grades.

Installation notes

  • Mounting, dowelling and pinion mesh are dimension-sheet items — check the dimension sheet for the exact rack you order.
  • Do not assume a rack alone fixes axis accuracy: pinion, gearbox backlash and machine alignment decide together.
  • Environment (dust, moisture, temperature) goes in the inquiry; no IP rating is claimed for racks on this site.
