Frequently asked questions

Selection, lead time, MOQ, warranty, certification, motor matching, IP ratings and customisation. Answers with a catalogue basis give the catalogue value first; answers without one say so instead of filling a number.

Planetary gearbox (schematic)
Planetary gearbox (schematic) | Source: schematic placeholder, not a product photo | Applies to: SPB/PBR, SPA/PAR, SPE/PER, SPD/PDR, DSP Planetary, SPF/ZPF, SPL/ZPL, SPW (schematic, not model-specific photo) | Real product photo to be supplied.

Selection method

How do I start selecting a model?

Enter motor and load numbers on the selection page, run the fit check, then check the dimension sheet for the exact frame you order. A calculator pass is not a final fit.

What does “fit screen only” mean?

It means the calculator screened catalogue numbers. Motor flange and shaft, duty cycle, radial load, backlash grade and the dimension sheet still decide — put all of them in the inquiry.

What is S1 vs S5 duty?

S1 is continuous duty. S5 is intermittent duty (ED <60%, single run <20 min). Rotary-table life of 20,000 h is an intermittent-duty catalogue basis. State your duty cycle in the inquiry.

Lead time

What is the lead time?

To be confirmed by the supplier in writing. No lead time / MOQ / warranty term / certification is claimed on this site until that confirmation arrives. Put your requirement in the inquiry so the quotation can cover it.

MOQ

Is there a minimum order quantity?

To be confirmed by the supplier in writing. No lead time / MOQ / warranty term / certification is claimed on this site until that confirmation arrives. Put your requirement in the inquiry so the quotation can cover it.

Warranty

What warranty applies?

To be confirmed by the supplier in writing. No lead time / MOQ / warranty term / certification is claimed on this site until that confirmation arrives. Put your requirement in the inquiry so the quotation can cover it.

What is the after-sales process?

To be confirmed by the supplier in writing. No lead time / MOQ / warranty term / certification is claimed on this site until that confirmation arrives. Put your requirement in the inquiry so the quotation can cover it.

Certification

Which certifications do the products hold?

To be confirmed by the supplier in writing. No lead time / MOQ / warranty term / certification is claimed on this site until that confirmation arrives. Put your requirement in the inquiry so the quotation can cover it. No certification is claimed on this site.

Motor flange & shaft matching

Will my motor fit?

Motors are “all brands” via adapter-bushing as catalogue positioning. State motor brand and model, flange size and shaft diameter in the inquiry; the dimension sheet decides for the exact frame.

What if my shaft or flange is non-standard?

Custom flange / shaft is the catalogue's stated strength. State the requirement in the inquiry and wait for the supplier's written confirmation — no custom size is promised on this site.

IP rating misuse

Can I use a rotary table where I use a gearbox?

No. Gearboxes are IP65; DSP Rotary Tables are IP40. The ratings are not interchangeable.

Can an IP40 rotary table go on a wet or food line?

Not directly without the supplier's written confirmation. No washdown suitability is claimed anywhere on this site. State the environment in the inquiry.

Do gear racks carry an IP rating?

No IP rating is claimed for racks on this site. State dust, moisture and temperature in the inquiry.

Customisation

Can I order a dual-axis table?

DAS / DBT are dual-axis, custom lines. Dimensions and ratings are to be confirmed per order.

Can I order a special flange, shaft or hollow size?

Put the exact requirement in the inquiry. Custom work is confirmed per order in writing; nothing custom is priced or promised on this site.

Naming & catalogue

What does DSP mean?

DSP Planetary is a gearbox (frames 070–220). DSP Rotary Table is a rotary table (frames 060–450). Never order by DSP alone.

What do the S / P / Z series prefixes mean?

S/P/Z prefix definitions still need the supplier's written confirmation. The model-code decoder follows the catalogue example format only and must not be used as a formal naming basis until that confirmation arrives.

Which catalogue edition is this based on?

Catalogues are 2021–2022 editions, revised 2023; latest edition to be confirmed.
